Coastal Self Drive Activities Itinerary:
This trip can be combined with the Southern Self drive activities itinerary as well as the Central Self Drive activities itinerary.
Day 1 B&B in Windhoek
Upon arrival in Windhoek you will collect your vehicle and drive to Windhoek using the B6 route you will drive west. Depending on the time of your arrival you may choose to spend your time on leisure by the accommodation establishments poolside, bar facilities or you may choose to wander around the city centre and do some souvenir shopping at the craft market. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner will be on your own expense.

Day 2 B&B in Swakopmund
Today you are all rested out and ready to start your journey, we will recommend that you depart after breakfast to the coastal town in Namibia which is lovingly nicknamed as “Sleeping Beauty” as it is frequently enveloped in mist. Swakopmund is a unique town, like no other – throughout the world. The town is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib Desert, and yes –if you do stand on a tall building you will see the desert on one side and the ocean on the other side. Today you may choose to rest and just appreciate the beauty surrounding this area. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner will be on your own expense.
Day 3 B&B in Swakopmund
Today your adventure in Swakopmund starts. This morning you are booked on a boat cruise and it is highly recommended that you drive to the Walvis Bay yacht club after a very early breakfast. Walvis Bay is a harbour town situated 30km outside of Swakopmund and it is a +- 30 minute drive from Swakopmund. The boat cruise departs at 08:00am. Take pleasure in a +- 3hour dolphin cruise, where you will definitely see dolphins and there is a possibility that you will see seals. Enjoy a champagne breakfast with oysters & snacks on board, all compliments of the cruise. After the cruise you may choose to scenic drive in Walvis Bay before driving to the quad bike venue where you will partake in a quad bike adventure on the Namib Desert, overlo
oking the Atlantic Ocean. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner will be on your own expense.
Day 4 B&B in Swakopmund
Today you may choose to partake in other optional activities. Optional activities include: Scenic flights over the coastal line of Namibia, flying over the large fur seal colony of Cape Cross and the open magnificent beauty of the Skeleton Coast; you may choose to hot air balloon over the Spitzkoppe outside Swakopmund; Visit to the Sandwich Harbour; cable slide; para sailing; sky diving; camel riding; golf activities; sandbaording and much more. You may choose to drive to the beach, but be warned Swakopmund has very cold seas; there is a large Olympic size in-door swimming pool for any one that wants to take a dip in the pool. You may also choose to visit the Aquarium & Kristal Gallery. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner will be on your own expense
Day 5 B&B in Windhoek
Today’s Journey will take you back to Windhoek. You may choose to stop at Okahandja a small town en route to Windhoek from Swakopmund, which sells a wide variety of crafts and arts to souvenir shop, continue on to Windhoek. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 6 Flight
Today, depending on the time of your flight you may choose to partake in a three hour township tour or join a 2.5 hour horseback safari before driving back to the Windhoek International Airport to drop off your vehicle and to connect with your flight back…..

Southern Self Drive activities itinerary
This trip can be combined with the Coastal Self drive activities itinerary as well as the Central Self Drive activities itinerary.
Day 1 B&B in Windhoek
Upon arrival in Windhoek you will collect your vehicle and drive west using the B6 route to Windhoek. Depending on the time of your arrival you may choose to spend your leisure time at the accommodation establishment’s swimming pool, bar facilities or wander around the city centre to do some souvenir shopping. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner will be on your own expense.

Day 2 Quiver Tree Forest
Recommend you drive after breakfast south to the Kalahari basin. This destination is an ideal stopover for the adventurer that appreciates nature, the Quiver Tree Forest. The Quiver Tree or “Kokerboom” is one of the most interesting and characteristic plants of the very hot and dry parts of Namibia. The Quiver tree is not actually a tree but an aloe plant. The botanical name is Aloe Dichotoma, Dichotoma refers to the forked branches of the plant. The plant is called a Kokerboom because some of the Bushmen and Hottentot tribes used the tough, pliable bark and branches to make quivers for their arrows; Koker is the Afrikaans word for quiver. You may also choose to visit the near by Giants Playground, with large rock piled ontop of each other almost looks as if it is about to tumble down. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a nearby farm on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 3 Fish River Canyon
Recommend to depart after breakfast to your next destination. Fish River Canyon is regarded to be the world’s second largest canyon. Take pleasure in partaking in optional activities to hike down to the Canyon. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 4 Tsaris Mountains
Today you will drive to the Tsaris Mountains. The view here will sweep you off your feet, the magnificent linear landscape of the mountains look as if they where placed there by man. Don’t feel guilty if relaxing is your choice of activity. Optional activities include hiking and bird watching. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a fully inclusive basis at Zebra River Lodge.
Day 5 Sesriem/Sossusvlei
Recommend to leave the lodge early after breakfast to set your eyes on the breath taking sunrise over the mountains and prestine landscape of Namibia. You will be driving through the colour changing mountains, appreciate the birdlife as well as the nest created on the poles and trees. Depending on the time of your arrival you may choose to visit the nearby Sesriem Canyon. Sesriem Canyon is one of Namibia’s smallest canyons. However, it is famous because it is one of the only natural sources by which the inhabitants from way back could obtain their water from. Sesriem gets its name from the tale that states that the early inhabitants used to take six thongs and tie it around a bucket to reach for the water in the canyon. Ses is an Afrikaans word meaning six and “riem” meaning thong. You may also choose to relax by the pool or bar area. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on an accommodation only basis. All your meals will be on your own expense.
Day 6 Sesriem/Sossusvlei
Today you will need to leave accommodation very early. You will drive between sand dunes which are as huge as mountains. Fairy circles are scattered all over the feet of the sand dunes. Perfect circles which till today scientist can not figure out what they are being caused by. En route to your destination set your eyes on passing springbok, ostriches with their young and an abundance of birdlife. You will participate in a hot air balloon adventure whereby you will view the sand dunes from a birds point of view overlooking the magnificent sunrise. Once you have landed you will enjoy a champagne breakfast and continue on to Sossusvlei which is at the end of the tarred road. If you are brave you will drive through the dune sand which is not recommended if you are not with a 4WD. There are 4x4 Shuttles which can take you in the dune vicinity and bring you back to your vehicle. Make sure to turn left and walk straight to see the magnificent area of Deadvlei and view the huge sand dunes surrounding this area. Do not think that your adventure ends there, no – continue either on foot or your 4WD to Sossusvlei meaning “the mouth where the river ends”. Don’t leave this area without climbing a dune, make it your priority. After all this excitement you will need to drive back to your accommodation. Depending on the time of your arrival you may choose to either cool off by the pool or just relax. Overnight is based in en suite accommodation only. All your meals will be on your own expense.
Day 7 B&B in Windhoek
Today you will drive back to Windhoek, we recommend that you stop en route to Windhoek at Solitaire to taste some of the best apple tarts this region is famous for, and this is the nearest stop to refuel your vehicle. Continue on to Windhoek. Overnight is based in an en suite room on a bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner will be on your own expense.
Day 8 Flight
Today after breakfast you will need to drive to the airport to drop off your vehicle and to connect with your flight back home.

This trip can be combined with the Southern Self drive activities itinerary as well as the Coastal Self Drive activities itinerary.
Day 1 B&B in Windhoek
Upon arrival in Windhoek you will collect your vehicle and drive to Windhoek, west using the B6 route. Depending on the time of your arrival you may choose to start your adventure by partaking in a horseback safari, you may also just choose to relax by the pool or souvenir shop in the city centre. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner will be on your own expense.
Day 2 B&B in Windhoek
Today after breakfast you will partake in a 3hour township tour where you will visit the local markets. You will also drink beer in the local shebeens. After this activity you will drive to the Mall to watch a movie of your choice. Other optional activities you may partake in is; quad biking, game driving, scenic tours, laser gun shooting etc. Overnight is based in en suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner will be on your own expense.
Day 4 Flight
After enjoying a scrumptious Namibian breakfast and depending on the time of your flight you may spend your time by the pool or read an interesting book. You will then drive to the international airport to drop off your vehicle and to connect with your flight back
